2009 Tournaments:
Held in Historic Wickford Rhode Island, this is our league's signature tournament. This is the same weekend as the Rhode Island Air Show - if you don't want to visit the beautiful beaches after the games, you can watch the Air Show right up the road.
The women soccer players of Connecticut are organizing the fifth women's outdoor soccer tournament for over-30, over-40, and over-50 teams this summer -- "Kick for a Cause." The tournament will take place on the weekend of July 25 and 26 in Wallingford. Over-30 teams will play full field 11 v 11, and over-40 and over-50 teams will play 8 v 8 on a smaller field. The goal is to raise money for a local charity, and bring women together for a fun weekend of good,"age appropriate" competitive soccer. Teams can be comprised of players from several different teams in your league, as we are accepting "tournament" rosters, rather than using league rosters.
Players can contact Annee if interested. Registration fee is about $30.00 per player plus hotel expenses. Wallingford is about 2 hours away. There are several hotels that hold a block of rooms specifically for this tournament. It's always a well-run tournament, you can check it out here: www.kfac.org. Rhode Island won the Over 30 division in past years. Annèe would also love for RI to have an Over 40 team participate.
