Game Cancellations
Games are ONLY OFFICIALLY cancelled by the President and/or Vice President of the League. Games are cancelled if the field is closed by the town or the referees do not show. WE DO PLAY IN ALL WEATHER. The referee will call the game if there is a weather emergency such as lightning and thunder. If in doubt, go to the field, otherwise your team could be charged for a forfeit. Cancellation of a game within 72 hours of the scheduled game due to lack of players IS considered a convenience cancellation - the cancelling team receives a forfeit and a $75 fine from RISA.
Missed League Meetings
There is a fine imposed on any team that does not send a representative to the quarterly league meetings. Procedures and policy decisions are made at these meetings that must be adhered to; the fine is an incentive for all teams to attend the meetings to participate in, and be informed about, these decisions.
Game Protests
A protest must be sent, in writing, to the Vice-President and postmarked within 72 hours of game time. The protest fee must accompany a written protest. If grounds for protest exist before the game begins, such as field conditions, nets, or player registrations, then the protest must be registered with the referee, in writing, before the game begins.
If a reason for a protest should arise during the game, the referees must be notified before the end of the game, and confirmed in writing at the end of the game.
The Vice President will obtain written statements from both coaches and all referees and determine the outcome of the protest, unless involved in the protest. If the Vice President is involved, the President shall appoint an unbiased committee to decide the protest. The Vice President, or Protest Committee, will present the protest and decision at the next league meeting. The decision may be appealed to the League Board, which requires the presence of a quorum to vote.

Team Representative: This person finds a field and gets permission to use it on home game days, collects registration dues ($30 per player) and league dues ($60 per team), registration forms and photos of each player. Once these items are collected they must be submitted to the league registrar by the weekly deadline so that you can have your pass ready for the next game. Players cannot play without a pass. A team rep must also attend the quarterly league meetings. If a rep from your team does not attend these meetings the team is fined. The reps also do whatever is necessary to keep your team running as smoothly as possible. Please lend a hand to your team rep. Ask if there is one thing you can do to help out once in awhile. The effort will be greatly appreciated. Team Rep emails can be found on our Teams page.
League President: The president is in charge of all aspects of running the league. She sets the league schedule and agendas for the league meetings. She makes sure that the insurance information and other RISA information gets to the team reps. She presides over committee meetings and comes up with new ideas for promoting and expanding the league. League Registrar: This person is reponsible for accepting payment, registration forms, and photos from the team reps and then getting this material to the RI Soccer Association Registrar. League Secretary: This person is responsible for attending all league meetings and keeping the minutes. She also updates the rep list and team email list.
